Position: Regional Monitoring & Evaluation Lead at HJFMRI Tanzania

HJF Medical Research International, Inc. Tanzania (HJFMRI) is seeking a Regional Monitoring and Evaluation Lead to oversee all monitoring and evaluation activities within their designated region. This role involves data collection, quality assurance, reporting, analytics, and capacity building. Based in Mbeya, Songwe, Rukwa, or Katavi, the position reports to the Regional Program Manager.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Monitor regional and district targets and disseminate analysis via IMPACT and DATIM dashboards.
    • Ensure availability of standardized monitoring and evaluation tools at district and partner levels.
    • Mentor and supervise District Data Managers to ensure quality data collection and reporting.
    • Review weekly, monthly, and quarterly district reports to identify challenges and enhance reporting quality.
  2. Data Analysis and Visualization:
    • Develop data visualizations to track regional program performance.
    • Implement strategies to increase data use across program staff.
    • Oversee district-level data quality assessments and final review of data submissions.
  3. Capacity Building:
    • Capacitate data managers to improve national M&E systems and data use.
    • Provide technical assistance and training to data clerks and assistants.
    • Collaborate with HMIS officers to support health information systems at the regional level.
  4. Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with the Monitoring and Evaluation team and program staff.
    • Liaise with program staff to review and analyze reports, identifying challenges and enhancing communication.
    • Participate in field-based supervision activities with internal and external stakeholders.
  5. Other Tasks:
    • Perform additional tasks assigned by supervisor as necessary.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Technical knowledge of data management policies and procedures.
  • Proficiency in DHIS2, DATIM, IMPACT, CTC2 database, and other relevant software.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent data management, analysis, and visualization skills.
  • Competence in statistical analysis packages and analytical software.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and work independently.
  • Demonstrable ability to write technical documents and give presentations.
  • Fluency in English and Swahili.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within the respective region.
