The TGCL Scholarship, 2023

The TGCL Scholarship, 2023 is open to applicants from East African Community Partner States, namely Kenya, Burundi, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan, and Uganda, who are pursuing an LLM or PhD programme. The scholarship offers various benefits to successful applicants, including a tuition fee waiver for the LLM/PhD programme, an annual stipend of 2,400 EUR for Tanzanians and 3,000 EUR for non-Tanzanians, health insurance coverage, and a housing allowance of 30 EUR per month.

To apply for the TGCL Scholarship, candidates are required to register online through the TGCL website. They need to submit a detailed CV, which should include relevant education, training, and practical experience. Applicants must use the Europass CV template provided on the Europass website. Additionally, a one-page letter of motivation is required.

Certified photocopies of all relevant certificates, including school leaving certificates, birth certificate, academic transcripts, and certificates of legal or other professional education, should be submitted. Provisional results for applicants in the final year of their LLB studies should also be included. If the documents are not in English, an official translation must be attached. A passport picture is also required. If the candidate is employed, a release letter from the employer is necessary.

Furthermore, candidates need to submit a research proposal of 1,500 words (for LLM candidates) or 3,000 words (for PhD candidates).
