Mapendekezo Ya Nauli Za Treni Ya SGR Ya Abiria : The Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA) has received requests from the Tanzania Railway Corporation (TRC) regarding passenger fares for the Modern Railway – ‘Standard Gauge Railway (SGR)’ to be utilized for passenger train services. As per Article No. 21 of Law No. 3 of LATRA, 2019, the Authority is required to gather input from stakeholders before making a decision to approve fare levels for services regulated by the Authority, including train fares.

In accordance with this, the Authority has organized a meeting to gather the opinions of transportation stakeholders, including service providers, service users, and the general public. The meeting is scheduled to take place on December 19, 2022, in the city of Dar es Salaam at the Anatorglo Hall.

Proposals for Initial Fares for SGR Passenger Trains The following table presents the proposed initial fare rates for SGR trains that are soon to commence services from Dar es Salaam to various stations. The rates are in Tanzanian Shillings (TSHS) for passengers, categorized by age.
