Entry Qualification

For Form VI Graduates:

Applicants must be holders of an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) with two principal passes. The total points should sum up to 4.0, based on the conversion scale: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2, E=1.

These two principal passes should be from any two of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

For individuals who completed their A-Level studies in 2014 and 2015, they must possess an Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE) with Two principal passes (Two Cs).

The total points should also be 4.0, based on the following conversion scale: A=5, B+=4, B=3, C=2, D=1. The two principal passes should be from any two of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

For Diploma Holders (NTA Level 6):

Candidates must have an Ordinary Certificate of Secondary Education (OCSE) with at least four passes in non-religious subjects. Additionally, they should hold an Ordinary Diploma in one of the following fields:

  • Water Supply and Sanitation Engineering
  • Hydrology & Water Well Drilling
  • Hydrology & Meteorology
  • Water Quality Laboratory Technology
  • Civil Engineering
  • Irrigation Engineering
  • Other fields related to Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering

The minimum GPA (NTA 6) required for the diploma is 3.0.

For Full Technician Certificate (FTC) Holders:

Candidates must have completed a Full Technician Certificate in Water Resources Engineering, Hydrogeology & Well Drilling, Hydrology & Meteorology, Water Laboratory Technology, Civil Engineering, or other fields related to Civil Engineering or Water Resources Engineering.

The minimum average C grade is necessary, based on the following conversion scale: A=5, B=4, C=3, D=2.

How to Apply

Applicants can apply online through the link provided on the homepage of the Water Institute’s website. The application fee is TShs 10,000/= and should be paid to Water Institute’s Account No. 22501000004 at NMB, Mlimani City Branch, Dar es Salaam.

Candidates are required to submit certified true copies of their Academic Certificates and Birth Certificate along with the application.

Deadline for Receiving Application Forms

Duly filled application forms and the required attachments should be submitted as early as possible. The deadline for Application for Admission is yet to be announced.
