General Admission Requirements

Post Graduate Program:

Applicants seeking admission to a Master’s Degree program should hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university recognized by the Commission for University Education.

Undergraduate Programs:

For Bachelor’s Degree courses, a minimum of KCSE Grade C+ (plus) or its equivalent is required. Alternatively, candidates with a Diploma from a recognized institution and a KCSE Grade C/C- (Minus) may also apply.


Admission to Diploma courses requires a KCSE mean grade of C/C- (Minus) or above. Candidates with a KCSE mean grade of D+ (plus) and below must have a certificate from a recognized institution.

Certificate Courses:

For Certificate courses, applicants should have a KCSE mean grade of D+ (Minus) and below.

Admission Requirements for International Students

We warmly welcome international students to KAG East University. The following admission requirements apply to foreign applicants:

  • An official translation of academic records (if applicable) done by a recognized body or their respective embassies.
  • An official test score of English proficiency, such as TOEFL or Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency, for applicants whose language of instruction is not English.
  • A minimum overall requirement of C+ at KCSE or an equivalent qualification as determined by the Senate, following CUE program qualification guidelines.
  • An international English proficiency certificate, such as TOEFL, GMAT, or SAT, can substitute for the English proficiency test.
  • Candidates will be required to write a two-page double-spaced essay addressing the topic: “What experiences led you to select your professional objectives?”

Transfer Students/Credit Transfer

Information on transfer students and credit transfer can be obtained on request from the admissions office.

Application Procedure

For Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs, applicants should submit the following items to the Academic Registrar’s Office:

  • A non-refundable application fee as specified in the current fee schedule.
  • A duly filled application form at least a month before the start of each semester.

For Postgraduate programs, additional requirements include:

  • A GPA of 3.0 in a relevant area of study.
  • Certified copies of all degree certificates and transcripts.
  • Certified Copies of the National Identity Card and/or Passport, and Birth Certificate.
  • A two-page double-spaced essay outlining your achievements, reasons for applying for the post-graduate program, and your expectations.

International students must also provide:

  • Official translation of academic records (if applicable).
  • Official test score of English proficiency.
  • A current financial guarantee letter from financial sponsors.
  • Acknowledgment slip of Application for student Pass from Immigration department.
