Garissa University General Admission Requirements

Garissa University offers various academic programs at the undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and certificate levels. Here are the general admission requirements for each category:

1. Certificate Courses:

  • Minimum mean grade of D+ (plus) obtained at KCSE level or its equivalent.

2. Diploma Programmes:

  • Minimum mean grade of C (plain) at KCSE level or its equivalent.

3. Undergraduate Degree Programmes:

  • Minimum mean grade of C+ (plus) at KCSE level or its equivalent.
  • Alternatively, candidates with a relevant Diploma in a recognized field are also eligible for admission.

4. Postgraduate Programmes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • Any other qualification recognized by Garissa University may also be considered.

Application Instructions:

  1. Obtain the application form, which is available on the Garissa University website or from the Admissions Office.
  2. Complete both sides of the application form with accurate and relevant information.
  3. Submit the completed application form along with the following:
    • Non-refundable application fee:
      • Kshs 500 for Certificate and Diploma programmes.
      • Kshs 1000 for Undergraduate programmes.
      • Kshs 2000 for Masters programmes.
      • Kshs 3000 for PhD programmes.
    • The application fee should be paid to any Equity branch in Kenya.
    • For Privately Sponsored Students Programme (PSSP) payments, use the following details:

  4. Send the application and required documents to the Admissions Office at the following address: Admissions Office P.O. Box 1801-70100 Garissa, Kenya
