Matokeo ya Sensa 2022 | Tanzania Population and Housing Census Results. The results of the 2022 Tanzania Population and Housing Census have been officially launched & announced by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania – Samia Suluhu Hassan today on October 31.

As well as being announced live, the results will be posted on notice boards in the ward, shehia, villages, streets and townships.

According to the official Results , the number of people in Tanzania has reached 61,741,120 million, President Samia Suluhu Hassan has announced today Monday 31 October , 2022 while giving the results of the 2022 Population and Housing Census. Tanzania Mainland has a total count of 59,851,357 people while Zanzibar has1,889,773 of the total count.

Since the last census was taken in 2012, when the population was 44,928,923, there has been a increase of more than 17 million Tanzanians.

Dar es Salaam has 5,383,728 (8.7% of all Tanzanians) while Mwanza has 3,699,872 (6% of all Tanzanians).

The number of women /females in the country officially stands at 31,687,990 which is 51% of the population and the number of men / males is at 30,053,130 or 49 % of the total population.

The Number of Buildings Structures counted in the Country stands at 14,348,372 . With Tanzania Mainland having a number of 13,907,951 buildings while Zanzibar has a total of 440,421 buildings.

In carrying out the exercise , 98% of the experts involved in the Population and Housing Census were Tanzanians and local scholars.

This was stated today, October 31, by the Chief Statistician of the Government, Dr. Albina Chuwa while giving an assessment of the 2022 Population and Housing Census at the launch of the census report held in Dodoma.
